What our experts say about the Siena

“The Siena is our standard chair, but has many of the features of a premium stairlift (the comfortable hand control, rounded seatback and footrest assistance feature to name a few). It’s these practical designs that make the Siena a great option for users with all sorts of different needs.”

Key benefits

Wide arms and seat

Make for a more comfortable ride, but can be adjusted to the narrow setting prior to installation.

Longer armrests

Provide the user with solid supports when getting in and out of the chair.

Easy folding

The footrest folds up easily with the seat, avoiding the need to bend over near the top of the stairs.

Sits close to the wall

Positions the spine closer to the wall, allowing the Siena to be installed on narrow staircases.

Ergonomic control

A soft, shaped control on the armrest only requires a light touch of the fingers or hand hand to start gliding up or down the stairs.

Easy-to-use seat belt

The seat belt can be used with one hand, and is mounted near the tip of the armrest, so it’s easy to reach.

Safety at the top of the stairs

The seat swivels at the top of the stairs to face safely onto the top landing. Note how close the footrest comes to the floor.

Large footrest

Provides extra support, and becoming an extension of the top landing for added safety when alighting.

Call or Send

Remote controls at each landing allow you to call or send your Siena.

Siena Detailed Specification

Dimensions

Straight stairs:
- Width: 339mm (min) (folded), 654mm (max)
(unfolded)
- Seat height: 390mm (min), 490mm (max)

Curved stairs:
- Width: 405mm (min) (folded), 679mm (max)
(unfolded)
- Seat height: 470mm

Max load

Straight stairs: Maximum one person up to 160kg
Curved stairs: Maximum one person up to 120kg

By code the stairlift is structurally strong enough to hold 5x that load, but should not be used to carry more than the rated load.

Power

Do we need to have a power supply or is it run off a battery?
Our stairlifts are battery powered, but we will require an outlet either at the top or bottom of the stairs to keep it charged. Our electricians will make sure it is in the best place prior to installation.

What happens in a power cut?
As the stairlift is battery powered it will continue to work even if your home loses power. If you have a powered swivel you will need to use the manual swivel lever.

How long does the battery in a Stannah stairlift last?
Depending on usage, your battery should last between 3 to 5 years.

How do the batteries recharge?
All Stannah straight rail stairlifts have a continual charge, the curved rail stairlifts have charge points on the rail.

Safety

- Ergonomic seatbelt
- (Optional) Footrest fold button
- Safety edges
- On/Off switch
